WORK HISTORY
President, Graphic Designer and Trainer 1994-Present
Sandcastle Design, Inc.
Created a CD-ROM entitled A Naturalist’s
Journal of Colorado which included my wildflower paintings, photography, video, animation,
narration and written content based on twelve years of field observations.
Designed a touch screen kiosk on mammography for St. Luke’s
Hospital in Montana.
Created four CD-ROM catalogs for North Face.
Produced the Aquilegia newsletter for the Colorado Native Plant
Society.
Trained production artists in QuarkXPress, Photoshop and Illustrator
for newspaper layout at the Denver Post and Loveland Herald.
Currently teach painting and naturalist’s journal classes
at Rocky Mountain National Park, Foothills Art Center, Park
Hill Art Club and Crested Butte Wildflower Festival.
Multimedia Designer 2001-2003 Klein Buendel, Inc. & AMC Cancer Research Center
Note: the creative team from AMC formed Klein Buendel and the Health
Communication Department formed The Cooper Institute
of Denver in June of 2002.
Produced animation, navigation and sound editing for three
CD-ROMs on sun safety for grades K-5. Acted as the voice talent
for "Ella Umbrella" and "Grandma Ida".
Edited the video on a project studying junior high students’ response
to non-smoking commercials. Designed the questions
and response screens in Director. Project was placed on 30 laptop
computers.
Produced a large test web site for the presentation of the 5 a
Day fruits and vegetables program to selected residents of
the Upper Rio Grande Valley. Web master responsible for monthly updates.

Led a creative team of content writers, programmers and web designers
to create three web sites on sun safety for
children.
Created a Flash animation to demonstrate the sun safety curriculum. Included
narration and sound effects.
Programmed tailored newsletters using QuarkXPress and Xdata extension.

Taught multimedia and CIS software. Software taught: Director, Premiere,
Illustrator, Photoshop, Painter, QuarkXPress, DOS and Advanced DOS.
Developed instructional materials for a wide range of computer software
using step by step processes and screen captures to address multiple
learning styles.
Signage Coordinator and Graphic Designer 1990-1994
The Denver Museum of Nature and Science
Supervised and trained staff and volunteers in production of signage
and exhibit
panels resulting in increased demand for services within the Museum.
Implemented a work flow with two shifts and weekend staff
to efficiently use limited equipment.
Designed the graphics and programmed the navigation for a touch
screen interactive kiosk on ecology using a DOS based authoring program.
Designed all graphic content for the Do You Know Where
Your Trash Is? exhibit.
Designed the taxonomy panel for a permanent exhibit on
insects.
Worked as exhibit designer for the Art and the Animal exhibit. Designed
the floor plan for placement of all paintings and sculptures.
Created a variety of “cart” exhibits for the
Hall of Life.
Designed a variety of self-contained “suitcase” exhibits
for the WOW van.
Produced way finding signage and show announcements
for the Museum, Planetarium and IMAX.
Created slides of upcoming Museum exhibits for projection on the
IMAX screen.
Coordinated exhibits for the Jason project with groups of 5th-12th
grade students.
